About the Producer
J. Lassalle Champagne
The Champagne House of J. LASSALLE was founded in 1942 in Chigny Les Roses, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. When Jules Lassalle died in 1982, his wife Olga and daughter Chantal took over the running of the estate. Angeline, granddaughter, joined them in 2006.
Today they are committed to preserving the unique style of Jules’ wines with the addition of a touch of femininity.
The vineyards of J.Lassalle spread over 45 plots of vines located in the villages of Chigny Les Roses, Ludes, Montbré, Puisieulx, Rilly La Montagne, Sermiers and Villers Allerand. They represent 16 hectares (39.23 acres) divided into: 48% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay and 22% Pinot Noir.
The vineyards are classified as premier cru and grand cru. A total of 120,000 bottles are produced each year.
The philosophy of J. Lassalle is based on several key points:
J. Lassalle owns all of its vineyards. The vineyards all share the same terroir, and are located no more than 10 km from the winery.
Each step of the wine making process is based on very traditional techniques that are very carefully and faithfully respected.
Each wine ages for at least five years to reach J. Lassalle’s strict quality standards.
At Dawe Wines our aim is to showcase champagne makers like the Lassalle family and offer their terroir driven champagnes to the UK where they are difficult to find. Click here to buy them online with free delivery on orders over £150.*
